1. Chi siamo
i giovani, che non hanno più l'occasione di conoscere l'ambiente degli Alpini da quando è terminato il servizio di leva, per far conoscere a loro i nostri valori. Intendiamo parlare di Onestà, Generosità, Volontariato, Onorare la memoria, Rispettare le gerarchie a cominciare dai propri genitori;
Che cosa ci manca?
In ordine prioritario dobbiamo:
completare tutte le pareti con l'applicazione di cartongesso alla intelaiatura metallica già predisposta, rifinitura e verniciatura;
completare l'impianto elettrico, in gran parte già finanziato da un generoso amico del Museo;
completare la scala che adduce al piano superiore e integrarla con un montacarichi per la movimentazione di visitatori portatori di handicap;
realizzare la scala di sicurezza esterna e completare l'impianto antincendio;
acquistare ed installare 3 apparati scambiatori di calore per il condizionamento della sala;
realizzare una saletta audiovisivi con computer, proiettore di immagini e filmati, e 24 posti a sedere;
realizzare ed installare 11 tabelloni in Dbond con le foto di tutti i C.ti delle Truppe Alpine, Brigate e Centro Add. Alp. oltre ad altri 4 relativi ad argomenti connessi con le esposizioni, compresa la descrizione delle strutture della fortificazione permanente nell’arco alpino ed in particolare in Valle Camonica;
acquistare/realizzare bacheche con vetri temperati per tutte le esposizioni oltre a due monitor touch-screen per facilitare i visitatori ad individuare la loro posizione nelle sale dei due piani ed il percorso espositivo;

MALP is a fully non-profit institution (free entrance), and it is especially designed for two kind of visitors:
Young people that cannot have had a direct experience of Alpine Troops (since we don’t have conscription anymore). We want to share our values of integrity, generosity, volunteerism; we also want to stress the importance of honouring the memory and having respect of the hierarchy (starting from ones own parents).
The “Veci” (dialectal term, properly meaning “old people” but here standing for “former members of the Alpine troops”), that can take advantage of pictures and materials displayed to relive their military experience.
Obviously, following the aim of the widest diffusion of the Alpine Troops' values and traditions, the Museum is at disposal of everyone interested to know more about this fascinating though unfamiliar world.
The Museum is located in Fucine, a small country very close to Darfo Boario Terme (a well-known spa town) in Val Camonica, a valley in the Alps region north of the city of Brescia. In this land alpine feelings are strong and hearty.
MALP was inaugurated in 2003, July 13th, then partially restored in 2013.
Outside you can notice many important plaques on the facade, in addition to three pieces of ordnance (howitzer 155/23, howitzer 105/14 and a gun 88/27) and a rare horse-drawn wood-fired mobile bread oven dating back to 1901.
The Museum is a two-storey building.
Ground floor is open to visitors, completely renovated in recent years and with a rich collection of items on display. Explicative panels, materials, photos, weapons, military equipment will show the history of Alpine troops starting from World War First to this day, considering not only military operations but also their commitment to help people hit by natural disaster and to secure peace in many fighting areas of the world.
A newly-built first floor is unfortunately still waiting to be completed.
Why this renovation and expansion?
In 2008 the need of more space became urgent, since the amount of items owned by the Museum was enormously increased through years.
The ground floor couldn't be enlarged, but it was possible to add more space in elevation: we needed an upper floor!
Ideas and proposals became a project, and thanks to the help of some public institutions in Lombardy we managed to demolish the unsafe old roof and to build up a new floor, with a new roof and fixtures adapted to cold winters and in accordance to the laws for public places.
These building works made necessary to close the ground floor to the public for more than four years. The ground floor was reopened on March 13th 2013, completely restored and newly furnished.
To see the changes in the external walls of the building please see the first very short movie in the “Gallery”
Unfortunately, because of this major financial effort, the Museum went out of money, and only the considerable help of three munificent friends of the Museum let us start building works of the upper floor (placing cables for the electric system, putting up aluminium frames for plasterboards walls to come and completing the over 350 sq m flooring) (A).
What needs yet to be done
According to priority order, we need:
to install plasterboard walls, that will have to be finished and painted;
to complete the electric system, most of it already financed by a munificent donor;
to realize a small room of projection, with a PC, a projector and 24 seats;
to buy and install 3 heat exchangers for the conditioned air of the whole flat;
to complete the staircase to the superior plan, including an elevator for disabled persons.
to realize the external safety staircase and to complete the fireproof plant;
to make and install 11 boards in Dbond with the photos of all the commanders of the Alpine Troops (Brigades and Alpine Trainig Center), in addition to other 4 boards dealing with items displayed (including a description of the permanent fortification in the Alps, with particular regard to Val Camonica area).
to purchase/realize glass showcases with moderate glasses for alla the exposures besides two monitors touch-screen to facilitate the visitors to individualize their position in the rooms of the two floors and the route to be followed
to make a trench similar to that of the World War First, with a screen showing videos/pictures and visible through an arrow slit. This is especially dedicated to students
Predictable Expenses (Including Taxes) to complete renovation
