HOW MANY ANCESTORS DO WE HAVE?

If we go back 10 generations: 2.046 ancestors.

Going back 20 generations? 2.097.150!!! Yes more than 2 million ancestors. And that in about 500 years only......mind blowing.

The more we go back, the more this number becomes unimaginably high. In fact if we went back 40 generations each one of us should have more than a trillion ancestors! A trillion, that's more than the number of people who have ever lived on earth!!!

How can we solve this paradox?

For doing so we would need to understand the so-called Pedigree Collapse. Well, that’s a complicate issue. And since we are here for the music, let me just point out one essential consideration: we all share at least one ancestor with each other.

How do I feel about this fact?

For me it's a fundamental reason to believe that we're all connected, that we're all part of the same family, WE ARE ALL ONE.

With this in mind I decided to create this campaign aiming at picturing this “family”. A family made up of different but similar personalities, with funny and colored faces.

Cosa? Si, avete letto bene!!! Più di due milioni di antenati.

E tutto ciò in circa 500 anni......più andiamo indietro nel tempo e più il numero diventa così alto, da risultare impossibile.

Infatti intorno alla quarantesima generazione, ognuno di noi dovrebbe avere 1 trilione di antenati, ma questo numero è più elevato del totale delle persone mai esistite sulla terra.

E adesso? Come risolviamo questo paradosso?

Per comprenderlo dovremmo approfondire il cosiddetto Pedigree Collapse, ma non è per niente semplice. E visto che alla fine siamo qui per la musica, limitiamoci a un concetto essenziale: ognuno di noi condivide almeno un antenato con ogni altro individuo.

Quindi? Per me è l'ennesima conferma che in un modo o nell'altro siamo tutti connessi, siamo tutti parte della stessa grande famiglia: WE ARE ALL ONE.

Per questo ho deciso con questa campagna di creare una famiglia allargata, una famiglia composta da differenti ma simili individui, con facce colorate e divertenti.
