Venice Climate Lab (VCL) propone Climate Days, un festival di due giorni dove la scienza del clima verrà divulgata in modo alternativo tramite arte e creatività. Il programma infatti prevede:

uno spettacolo teatrale, performance di street art, mostre fotografiche, performance musicali, dibattiti

L’obiettivo del festival è quello di sensibilizzare il pubblico, rendendolo attivo, sulla criticità e urgenza dei problemi climatici e ambientali che stiamo vivendo, con lo scopo di creare “azione”. Inoltre, i dibattiti ruoteranno attorno ai temi della sostenibilità ambientale, sociale ed economica.

Il festival ha il patrocinio di Università Ca’ Foscari di Venezia, Venice International University e l'Istituto per la Dinamica dei Processi Ambientali del CNR (CNR-IDPA).

Programma

28 settembre, CFZ Ca' Foscari Zattere, ore 20:30

• “Emotion for change”, performance musicale della violinista Sara Michieletto
• “Antropocene. Il tempo del nostro tempo”, spettacolo teatrale di Frank Raes

29 settembre

• dalle 9 alle 12 presso Campo Santa Margherita: “Science Buskers”, performance di street art da parte di quattro ricercatori di Ca’ Foscari e Iuav
• dalle 14 alle 17 presso CFZ, Ca' Foscari Zattere: “Art & Science of climate change”, Jacopo Pasotti modererà un incontro sulla scienza del clima e il ruolo dell’arte e della creatività nell'affrontare questo problema epocale
• dal 29 settembre fino a dicembre presso cortile di Ca' Foscari: “(climate) Change”, mostra fotografica collettiva sul tema del cambiamento climatico da un punto di vista scientifico e sociale, di Jacopo Pasotti, Federico Sutera, Francesco Fiondella,Federico Dalloe Fabio Cian
• ore 14:15 circa, presso CFZ, Ca' Foscari Zattere: “Climate change: The grand challenge”, concorso di creatività e comunicazione dei cambiamenti climatici a cura di Bianca Nardon e Shylock CUT di Venezia

Il referente di VCL per il crowdfunding è Fabio Cian, membro di VCL, co-organizzatore dei Climate Days e ricercatore post-doc all'Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia. 

Il budget raccolto verrà interamente gestito da VCL e servirà per coprire le spese organizzative: viaggio e alloggio degli ospiti fuori sede, spese per il noleggio di attrezzatura e allestimento degli eventi, allestimento della mostra fotografica e stampa, promozione e pubblicità, realizzazione delle t-shirt.

Cos’è il Venice Climate Lab

Il Venice Climate Lab (VCL) è un network di ricercatori scientifici e professionisti dei cambiamenti climatici fondato il 22 aprile 2017, giorno della Terra. Il gruppo ha l’obiettivo di promuovere e organizzare eventi divulgativi al confine tra arte, creatività e scienza, per sensibilizzare sui temi dei cambiamenti climatici e sostenibilità.

VCL è rappresentato legalmente da Associazione Culturale OFFICINA e Shylock Centro Universitario Teatrale di Venezia.

I suoi sei membri fondatori sono: Fabio Cian, Federico Dallo, Emilio Antoniol, Bianca Nardon, Silvia Santato, Margherita Ferrari. Sono attivi nella città di Venezia presso l’Università Ca’ Foscari, Università Iuav di Venezia e Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR). Di conseguenza il gruppo si propone di operare principalmente a Venezia e in laguna, simbolo globale di fragilità costiera e dei rischi connessi ai cambiamenti climatici.

Venice Climate Lab (VCL) proposes Climate Days, a two-day festival where climate science will be alternately disseminated through art and creativity. The program encompasses:

A theater show, street art performances, photo exhibitions, musical performances, debates

The aim of the festival is to make the public aware of the criticality and urgency of the climate and environmental issues that we are experiencing, with the aim of creating "action". In addition, debates will revolve around the themes of environmental, social and economic sustainability.

The festival has the patronage of Ca 'Foscari University of Venice, Venice International University, the Institute for the Dynamics of Environmental Processes of the National Research Council (CNR-IDPA), Divisione Risk Assessment and Adaptation Strategies della Fondazione Centro Euro-Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici (RAAS-CMCC).

29 September

- from 9 am to 12 at Campo Santa Margherita: "Science Buskers", street art performances by four researchers at Ca 'Foscari and Iuav

- from 2 pm to 5 pm at CFZ, Ca' Foscari Zattere: "Art & Science of Climate Change", Jacopo Pasotti will moderate a debate on climate science and the role of art and creativity in the epochal problem

- from September 29 to December at Ca' Foscari palace courtyard: "(climate) Change", collective photographic exhibition on the topic of climate change from a scientific and social point of view, by Jacopo Pasotti,Federico Sutera, Francesco Fiondella, Federico Dallo and Fabio Cian

- at about 2:15 pm, at CFZ, Ca' Foscari Zattere: "Climate change: The grand challenge", international contest of creativity and communication of climate change organized by Bianca Nardon and Shylock CUT Venice.

The representative of VCL for the crowdfunding campaign is Fabio Cian, memeber of VCL, co-organisator of the Climate Days and post-doc researcher at the Ca' Foscari University Venice. 

The budget gathered is entirely managed by VCL and will be used to cover the organizational expenses: travel and accommodation of the off-site guests, equipment rental and event set-up, photographic exhibition set-up and prints, promotion and advertising, realization of t-shirts.

About the Venice Climate Lab

The Venice Climate Lab (VCL) is a network of research scientist and professional of climate change founded on April 22, 2017, Earth Day. The group aims to promote and organize dissemination events at the intersection of art, creativity and science to raise awareness about climate change and sustainability issues.
VCL is legally represented by Associazione Culturale OFFICINA and Shylock University Theater Center Venice.
Its six founding members are Fabio Cian, Federico Dallo, Emilio Antoniol, Bianca Nardon, Silvia Santato, Margherita Ferrari. They are active in the city of Venice at Ca' Foscari University, the Iuav University Venice and the National Research Council (CNR). The group aims to operate mainly in Venice and in the lagoon, a global symbol of coastal fragility and the risks associated with climate change.
