Novecity is a futuristic model that leverages people's propensity to spend for themselves (selfish deed) to automatically trigger a donation to humanitarian and philanthropic organizations (selfless deed).
The Novecity model, applied to the travel industry, works like a not-for-profit version of popular platforms like Booking.com/Expedia. Travelers may book their room at the same convenient prices they would get elsewhere and the commission that the hotelier corresponds to Novecity - from a minimum of 15% to peaks of 50%, it’s a lot of money on a global scale - gets automatically rerouted to charitable organizations. The traveler himself choses the beneficiary during the reservation and uses its booking number as a tracking ID to follow the amount till its intended destination.
The selfless deed has therefore now become an automatic derivate of the selfish one. At no extra cost, you can keep exploring the world and make a selfless deed in the process. Novecity aims to permeate the real economy and establish itself as a permanent conduit of funds from the cash-rich travel industry to cash-poor organizations such as Medicins Sans Frontieres, Emergency and similar.
