Dall'esigenza di un cambiamento culturale e di lotta alle tante discriminazioni che le persone LGBTIQ* subiscono quotidianamente, nasce un evento come il Perugia Pride: momento politico, celebrativo e ludico nel quale tutt* noi ci riapproprieremo delle vie della nostra città per affermare con forza che esistiamo e resistiamo alle derive autoritarie e reazionarie, all'odio, alla paura, all'umiliazione delle minoranze oppresse. Coi nostri corpi e le nostre individualità, porteremo la società a riflettere sulla necessità di una rivoluzione in termini di diritti sociali e civili e di salvaguardia di ogni identità, in ogni sua espressione.

L'autodeterminazione è il diritto fondamentale per cui il Perugia Pride prende il suo spazio fra le strade della città, manifestando la necessità che tutta la cittadinanza abbracci e faccia propria questa lotta per la liberazione dalle discriminazioni.

Omphalos è un'associazione che opera attivamente in difesa delle persone LGBTIQ* da più di 25 anni, sul territorio di Perugia e dell'Umbria. La nostra mission è quella di condurre un cambiamento culturale inclusivo di tutte le differenze, che permetta in particolare alle persone lesbiche, gay, bisex e trans* e intersex di avere le stesse possibilità di realizzazione della propria felicità individuale che attualmente appartengono solo a una parte privilegiata della popolazione. 

Omphalos è una casa, una rete di persone, un supporto, un centro culturale e ludico per la vita di tante persone che credono nella libertà, nell'educazione alle differenze e in una lotta intersezionale capace di portare benefici alla società tutta. Grazie al suo impegno di sensibilizzazione e all'esperienza maturata in questi decenni di servizio per la cittadinanza, il lavoro di Omphalos si è intrecciato a tante realtà che ne condividono le rivendicazioni e che portano avanti insieme a noi un'idea di cultura basata sul rispetto delle sue singolarità.

Support Perugia Pride 2019

The need of a cultural change and the fight against the discriminations that lesbian, gay, bisex, trans* and intersex people face every day are behind the decision to launch our very own Perugia Pride event: a political, commemorative and joyful moment in which we can reclaim as ours the streets of this city, assert that we exist and resist against fascist and reactionary movements, against hate, fear, and the humiliation suffered by an oppressed minority. With our bodies and our own individualities, we endeavor to let the society reflect on the need of a revolution, one that protects social and civil rights and safeguards every single identity.

Self-determination is the fundamental right for which Perugia Pride takes to the streets, asking that the whole city embrace our fight for the liberation from all discriminations, making it its own fight. 

Omphalos is an organization that has been actively working in defense of LGBTIQ* people for over 25 years in Perugia and across Umbria. Our Mission is to bring about a cultural change that is inclusive of all individuals, to allow LGBTIQ* people to have the same chances to achieve happiness as everyone else, something which at the moment belongs to a privileged part of the population.

Omphalos is a home, a network of people, a place for support, a center for culture and recreation for those who believe in freedom, in educating about differences, and in an intersectional fight that can benefit the whole society. Thanks to its commitment to bring awareness about LGBTIQ* issues and its experience over decades of service to the local community, Omphalos’ work has intertwined with many realities that share our commitments and our idea of a culture based on the respect of each individual.
