CHI SIAMO

L’Associazione Presepe Vivente Pietrelcina, già Comitato Presepe Vivente Pietrelcina, è costituita da un gruppo di volontari pietrelcinesi e si occupa dell’ organizzazione di eventi e rappresentazioni non a scopo di lucro legate alla figura di San Pio e di promozione del territorio.
L’evento di spicco organizzato dall’Associazione, da ormai 30 anni, è il Presepe Vivente che si svolge nei giorni 27/28/29 Dicembre.

L’EVENTO

Il Presepe Vivente di Pietrelcina nasce in occasione del centenario della nascita di San Pio da Pietrelcina, precisamente nel Natale 1987/1988, da quell’anno ogni Natale a Pietrelcina si vive la Magia del Presepe.

Da subito ha riscosso un enorme successo arrivando a toccare anche le 20.000 unità di visitatori nelle tre sere, questo perché il Presepe Vivente riesce a regalare emozioni uniche che spingono i visitatori a tornare negli anni.

I luoghi della rappresentazione sono quelli che hanno visto nascere e crescere Francesco Forgione, futuro San Pio e la Natività, impersonata da vere famiglie pietrelcinesi con il loro ultimo nato, ha luogo nel granaio della Famiglia Forgione, sotto la casa natale di Padre Pio. Sicuramente anche per questo il Presepe è parte integrante della realtà pietrelcinese, si può dire che a Pietrelcina non c’è Natale senza Presepe Vivente.

IL PROGETTO - XXXI edizione

L’Associazione Presepe Vivente, associazione non a scopo di lucro, basa il suo operato interamente sul volontariato e fino ad oggi si è finanziato con le offerte dei visitatori e, talvolta, con contributi comunali. Tuttavia anche noi abbiamo risentito della crisi economica e anche a causa della mancanza di fondi lo scorso anno ci siamo dovuti fermare.

Allestire il presepe non è semplice, c’è bisogno di forza di volontà che si tramuti in forza lavoro e impegno costante ed essendo, il Presepe Vivente di Pietrelcina, diventato un vero e proprio evento che richiama visitatori da ogni parte di Italia, richiede un’organizzazione che spazia dalla costruzione delle strutture all’accoglienza. Poichè l’Associazione ha voluto confermare la sua natura rimanendo ferma sul punto cardine che l’organizzazione deve conservare intatto il principio su cui si è fondata per 30 anni e cioè, il Volontariato, il lavoro di allestimento va inserito in un contesto di quotidianità, fatto di lavoro e famiglia. Quindi dall’ultima domenica di Ottobre, per tutte le domeniche e nelle sere infrasettimanali, il gruppo di volontari si riunisce per montare le strutture che traformano la zona “Castello” nella piccola Betlemme e dal primo Dicembre si allestisce un vero e proprio ufficio che resta aperto due ore al giorno.

Consapevoli che i problemi che avevamo riscontrato negli ultimi anni non sono completamente cancellati e dell’importanza dell’evento sia dal punto di vista affettivo che dal punto di vista dell’indotto economico che esso genera, quest’anno abbiamo deciso di riprendere i lavori per allestire la XXXI edizione del Presepe Vivente. Da qui la richiesta di un contributo a voi tutti, a chiunque ha avuto modo di visitare il nostro presepe e ha potuto vivere in prima persona le emozioni che il Presepe Vivente di Pietrelcina sa regalare e a chi ancora non lo ha fatto perché possa provare questa magica esperienza.

Tutto quello che chiediamo è un piccolo e libero contributo perché questa tradizione possa continuare negli anni a regalare emozioni.

ABOUT US

The Presepe Vivente Pietrelcina Association, formerly Presepe Vivente Pietrelcina Committee, is made up of volunteers from Pietrelcina and deals with organizing nonprofit events and representations related to St. Pio and the promotion of its territory. The prominent event organized by the Association for the past 30 years has been the Presepe Vivente (Live Nativity) which takes place on the 27th, 28th and 29th of December.

THE EVENT

The Presepe Vivente of Pietrelcina was started on the anniversary of St. Pio’s of Pietrelcina centennial birth,precisely during the Christmas of 1987/1988. Since then, every Christmas in Pietrelcina you can relive the magic of the Nativity.

It was immediately a huge success reaching 20,000 visitors during the three nights. This was due to the fact that the Presepe Vivente can give unique emotions and make the visitors come back over the years.

The places in which the Nativity is set are those where Francesco Forgione, the future St. Pio, was born and raised. The Nativity Holy Family is impersonated by local families with their new born child and it is set in the former Forgione family’s barn above St. Pio father’s house. Surely for this reason the Presepe Vivente is an integral part of the town’s reality: it can be said that in Pietrelcinait is not Christmas without the Presepe Vivente.

THE PROJECT- 31st edition

The Presepe Vivente Association, a nonprofit association, bases its work entirely on volunteers and until now it has been financed with visitors’ donations and sometimes with municipal funds.

However, we have also suffered from the economic crisis and the lack of fund due to which last year we had to stop. Setting up the Presepe is not easy, it needs willpower that turns into manpower and constant commitment and since it is a real event that attracts visitors from all over Italy, it requires an organization that ranges from construction of structures to reception. Since the Association wanted to remain truthful to its nature by preserving the pivotal principal which it was founded for 30 years —that is volunteering— the work behind the preparation must be placed into the everyday life context, made up of work and family. Hence, from the last Sunday of October, every Sunday following and midweek evenings, the volunteers meet to build structures that transform the “Castello” rural area into the small town Bethlehem and from December 1st it is set up as a real office that stays open daily for two hours.

Aware of the problems we had in the past recent years which have not completely gone away and the spiritual and economic importance of the event, this year we decided to restart the labor and set up the 31st edition of the Live Nativity.

Hence, the request for a contribution to you all, to anyone who already has had the opportunity to visit our Nativity and experience firsthand the emotions that the Presepe Vivente of Pietrelcina can give, and offer those who have no yet to visit and witness this magical experience.

All we ask for is for your support so that we may continue over the years to offer you as a gift this emotional experience.

The association will be pleased to invite anyone who decides to contribute to our project by providing a preferential lane (maximum three entries per contribution) when visiting the Presepe.
