Marta è nostra figlia. Come è noto per aiutare i propri i figli si è disposti a fare di tutto ma, non sempre si riesce a far tutto da soli.

Marta è nata con un  Artresia Microtia all'orecchio sinistro ( in parole spicciole assenza del padiglione auricolare e del condotto uditivo) adesso ha quasi 11 anni ed è pienamente cosciente della sua particolarità.

Dopo anni di attese e di ricerche in campo chirurgico, abbiamo trovato a Los Angeles un bravissimo chirurgo che è capace di ricostruirle il padiglione esterno, lo abbiamo incontrato due volte in Olanda  in occasione della conferenza che tiene ogni anno, finalmente, è arrivato il momento di fare il grande passo, volare negli Stati Uniti il prossimo dicembre e regalare a Marta per il suo undicesimo compleanno il tanto atteso e desiderato orecchio.

In Europa purtroppo la tecnica utilizzata dal Dott. Reinish non è attuabile. Questo ricade ovviamente sui pazienti in primis e sulle loro famiglie che, devono affrontare costi altissimi oltre al disagio di dover volare oltre oceano e permanere in loco 3 / 4 settimane. 

Ciò che chiediamo come papà e mamma di Marta, è semplicemente un supporto economico per poterle regalare la cosa che più desidera, un orecchio.

La data è fissata al 27 dicembre 2016, una somma di $5000,00 è stata già pagata a conferma dell'intervento stesso. Il costo totale del ricovero, il chirurgo e lo staff di anestesisti si aggira sui $37000,00 a cui si sommano i costi dei biglietti aerei e la permanenza negli Stati Uniti.

Ci auguriamo di cuore vogliate donare a Marta un qualsivoglia supporto economico e sicuramente insieme a tutti voi il regalo se possibile, avrà ancora più valore.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

Marta is our daughter. We all know that parents would do anything for their children, but we can’t always do it alone.

Marta was born with unilateral Microtia Atresia of the left ear (in plain terms that means she has no left-hand external ear, ear canal or eardrum). She is now nearly 11 years old and fully aware of her condition.

After a long wait and many years researching possible surgical options, we have finally managed to find a highly specialized surgeon, working in Los Angeles, who would be able to reconstruct Marta’s external ear. We have met up with him twice in the Netherlands where, once a year, he holds a conference.

At last the time has come to take the next big step: the plan is to fly to the United States next December to give Marta the longed-for ear for her eleventh birthday. Unfortunately, the technique used by Dr. Reinisch is not available in Europe, which obviously affects not only patients but also their families, who face huge medical fees, as well as the additional high cost of flights to the US and 3-4 weeks accommodation for the duration of the treatment.

What we, as Marta’s mum and dad, are asking for is quite simply some financial support to help give Marta the best present she could ever wish for – a new ear.

The date has fixed for December 27th 2016, and the sum of $5,000 has already been paid as a deposit to confirm the booking for the operation itself. The total cost of the hospital treatment, including payment for the surgeon and the anaesthetists, amounts to approximately $37,000, but, of course, the price of the air tickets to the US and the cost of staying there also have to be added to this sum.
