My name is Giuditta R and work actively in the field of contemporary art since 2008.

I come from Messina, in Sicily, but I currently live in Berlin. Together with creating a large network I am committed to consistently present my work in different contexts. 

I am interested to propose a big project in the city of Messina that includes an initiative of exchange with artists and creative minds, both Italian and foreigners. 
Since last year I have indeed opened a Residency in which it is possible to create new works, develop ideas, cultural sessions and workshops of various kinds etc. This is the first Residency for artists in Messina, as well as one of the first opportunities for international cultural and artistic interchange in this city. 

For the location, we want to offer a stay in a house in the countryside to artists without limits of age, and nationality that work within all creative fields (poets, musicians, visual artists, performers, photographers, film makers, fashion designers, etc.) 
We called the Residency "Villa R". It is located near the Colli S. Rizzo, a place that definitely would give selected artists a unique experience in an exclusive and meditative location, in contact with nature, far from the distracting vibes of the big city . 
The house comprises a large studio of 80sqm and a lot of green area around that will make artists able to work on big scale without limits of media.

With my great pleasure I want to inform you that this year we have had interest from artists from various parts of the world, especially the United States. But unfortunately, the presence of a big amount of different expenses for: production materials, rental of transportation, made none of the candidates artists able to realize this experience! 
This is one of the major reasons why in this moment I need your help to support this project! 
In fact by getting a simple contribution artists will not have to pay all the expenses of the Residency and materials on their own pockets, which further facilitates the common interest in this initiative. 
If this project were to take off, in a few years we are planning to invite into Villa R Residency more and more established artistic personalities.

I have trust in having valid support for this project already in our next session 2015.
