Sveriges Internationella Talanger launched April 2014 as a LinkedIn group "for and of foreign academics" to address 3 issues hindering integration of educated foreigners into the Swedish labor market: lack of centralized information, lack of contacts, and expressed challenge of finding "us". Now with over 900 members and several activities behind us, we want to move forward with increased membership, publicity, and understanding so we can continue helping educated foreigners enter the swedish labor market more easily.

There are 300 000 foreign academics currently living in Sweden who are already educated and have work experience. They wish to continue their careers and begin contributing to their new homeland but meet hindrances. SIT maintains that foreign academics have much to offer Sweden- such as fresh ideas and perspectives- and that increased cultural diversity allows for innovation. SIT states that foreign academics are educated and are ready to work- that they only need to be given a chance. 

SIT aims to be the bridge between foreign academics and Swedish labor market. Through events, panel discussions and centralized services for our members and businesses in Sweden, we address and try to smooth the process of integration into the Swedish labor market and society. Through our network and talent pool, foreign academics can use a wide network and also get in touch with companies in Sweden. We offer centralized information and various events to help overcome the difficulties in finding jobs in Sweden.

We are the only organization of and for foreign academics that aims to support, educate, and encourage talent- and then connect them through publicity and events to those in hiring positions. We are the only LinkedIn group and the only entity representing the voices of global talent living in Sweden. To help our members support themselves and contribute their talents is a huge benefit for both the individual and Swedish society.

Through this crowdfunding campaign, our hope is to gather funds for our business-startup in Sweden, to be able to take the step from being a non-profit network to become a self sufficient network.
