Un cortometraggio che esplora il rapporto tra una figlia e suo padre negli ultimi giorni di vita. Un dialogo sospeso tra presente e passato porta alla luce verità familiari mai dette e un’eredità emotiva che cambia per sempre il modo in cui la protagonista vede sé stessa, il padre e la loro storia.
Al centro del racconto c’è l’incontro tra due solitudini: quella di un uomo che sta per andarsene e quella di una donna che, solo ora, trova il coraggio di fare domande mai osate. In questo tempo sospeso si svelano scelte difficili, desideri irrealizzati e un segreto che ha segnato il destino di entrambi.

Il cortometraggio

Il cortometraggio “Forse avrei voluto un maschio” sarà diretto da Tommaso Miragoli. La storia affronta come dinamiche familiari e professionali possano generare traumi emotivi, piccoli e grandi, spesso invisibili ma capaci di influenzare chi ci circonda. Miragoli intende aprire uno spazio di confronto e riconoscimento, offrendo agli spettatori strumenti per riflettere sul proprio vissuto e sul rapporto con gli altri.
La produzione è affidata a Pauper, giovane collettivo milanese formato da professionisti provenienti da scuole e realtà come la Civica Scuola di Cinema Luchino Visconti, Mohole e New York Film Academy. Pur essendo un progetto indipendente, Pauper adotta un approccio solido e strutturato, con l’obiettivo di realizzare opere capaci di esistere al di fuori dei modelli tradizionali.
Le riprese sono previste per novembre 2025 a Milano.

Cosa rende speciale questo progetto?

“Forse avrei voluto un maschio” è una storia che esplora la complessità dei legami familiari e il modo in cui amore e dolore si intrecciano, rendendo difficile distinguere ciò che appartiene realmente a noi da ciò che ci viene tramandato.
Il film si fonda sull’incontro tra due voci: quella della figlia, sospesa tra rabbia e amore, e quella del padre, che solo alla fine trova il linguaggio per raccontarsi.
Il confronto con le proprie origini, il peso dell’eredità emotiva e la necessità di accettazione rendono questa storia riconoscibile per chiunque abbia vissuto un rapporto complesso con i propri genitori.

Perché è importante?

“Forse avrei voluto un maschio” è una riflessione sul silenzio che abita molte famiglie, sulla necessità di conoscere la verità per poter andare avanti, e sull’ambivalenza dell’amore tra padre e figlia.
È un invito a interrogarsi su chi siamo, da dove veniamo e su ciò che scegliamo di lasciare irrisolto.

Obiettivo di produzione
Per realizzare “Forse avrei voluto un maschio”, abbiamo previsto un budget totale di 5.000 euro, pensato per curare ogni aspetto del progetto e rispettare chi vi partecipa. La squadra è felice di lavorare su base volontaria, ma siamo alla ricerca di un sostegno economico per  garantire una distribuzione equa delle risorse per il buon svolgimento delle riprese.

Il budget supporterà:

• compensi per gli attori, inclusi i viaggi;
• il team sul set, con pasti, acqua, trasporti;
• noleggio dell’attrezzatura tecnica;
• preparazione e cura delle location;
• distribuzione del film, per permettere alla storia di raggiungere il pubblico.

Anche con risorse limitate, il nostro obiettivo è realizzare un cortometraggio curato, professionale e indipendente, valorizzando ogni persona coinvolta.
Ogni contributo ci avvicina a raccontare questa storia e ad avviare il giovane collettivo Pauper.

Il progetto nasce dalla passione del nostro giovane collettivo, che ha deciso di investire risorse proprie per dare vita a questa storia. Una parte del budget proviene dall’autofinanziamento diretto del gruppo, mentre un’altra dal lavoro professionale dei singoli membri, che hanno messo a disposizione competenze e tempo. 
Questo investimento non è solo economico, ma simbolico: rappresenta la nostra determinazione e il desiderio di creare un cinema indipendente di qualità, dimostrando che, anche senza grandi finanziamenti esterni, è possibile realizzare storie autentiche, con passione e professionalità.

Ha realizzato cortometraggi proiettati in festival e sale milanesi. Frequenta il corso magistrale in Teatro, Arti e Letterature presso l'Università Statale di Milano.
• Produzione — Federica Narciso, producer e agente cinematografica (classe 1997), attiva dal 2021 su produzioni nazionali e internazionali. Ha lavorato al corto Transumanza e su progetti pubblicitari e documentaristici. Nel 2025 ha concluso il corso di produzione alla Civica L. Visconti, dove incontra parte del collettivo. Coordina l’organizzazione e la produzione esecutiva del progetto.

Pauper è un collettivo di giovani maestranze, nato a Milano ma aperto a talenti da altre realtà, con l’obiettivo di sviluppare progetti indipendenti con approccio professionale. Unisce competenze diverse – regia, produzione, recitazione, fotografia, grafica e post-produzione – creando un ambiente creativo dove ciascun membro contribuisce con talento ed esperienza.

A short film exploring the relationship between a daughter and her father in his final days. A dialogue suspended between present and past brings to light family truths never spoken and an emotional legacy that forever changes how the protagonist sees herself, her father, and their story.

At the heart of the story is the encounter between two solitudes: that of a man who is about to leave and that of a woman who, only now, finds the courage to ask questions she has never dared to voice. In this suspended time, difficult choices, unfulfilled desires, and a secret that shaped both their destinies are revealed.

The Short Film

The short film “Forse avrei voluto un maschio” will be directed by Tommaso Miragoli. The story explores how family and professional dynamics can generate emotional traumas, both small and significant, often invisible but capable of affecting those around us. Miragoli aims to create a space for reflection and recognition, offering the audience tools to think critically about their own experiences and relationships.
The production is handled by Pauper, a young Milanese collective composed of professionals from institutions such as the Civica Scuola di Cinema Luchino Visconti, Mohole, and the New York Film Academy. Even as an independent project, Pauper maintains a structured and professional approach, with the goal of producing work that exists outside traditional production models.
Filming is scheduled for November 2025 in Milan.

Forse avrei voluto un maschio delves into the complexity of family bonds and how love and pain intertwine, making it difficult to distinguish what truly belongs to us from what is passed down.

The film centers on the dialogue between two voices: the daughter’s, torn between anger and love, and the father’s, who only at the end finds the words to tell his story. Confronting one’s origins, facing the weight of an emotional legacy, and the need for acceptance make this story resonate with anyone who has experienced a complicated relationship with their parents.

Production Goal

To realize Forse avrei voluto un maschio, we have planned a total budget of €5,000, designed to carefully manage every aspect of the project and respect everyone involved. The team is happy to work voluntarily, but we are seeking financial support to ensure a fair distribution of resources for smooth production.

Even with limited resources, our goal is to create a short film that is professional, polished, and independent, valuing everyone involved. Every contribution brings us closer to telling this story and launching the young collective Pauper.

Part of the budget comes from the group’s self-funding, and another part from the professional work of individual members, who have contributed their skills and time.
