Mi chiamo Leonardo Carletti, sono uno studente di Cinema presso la Rufa -Rome University of Fine Arts. L’espressione artistica è una condizione permanente della mia vita, non obiettivo ma strumento. Un aiuto a parlare con la gente forse, una tacita comprensione, e il cinema rappresenta per me il massimo strumento artistico-filosofico d’espressione mai inventato. Una collaborazione armoniosa tra tutte le massime discipline artistiche.

Nell’appassionarmi al romanzare cinematografico sono rimasto vittima del fascino dei generi, vittima degli espedienti narrativi di una storia ben raccontata, una favola vecchia come il mondo che il mondo racconta, lasciando quello spazio alla fantasia, quasi naive se vogliamo, dell’applicazione personale al contesto in cui viviamo di fatti che ci sembrano così lontani. E quindi il western, che ogni tanto ci scordiamo di quanto abbia dato al cinema del Bel Paese, di quanto ci abbia messo su una mappa grande quanto la storia del cinema stessa. Ma il western raccontato da me, da occhi più underground, occhi che nel western vedono la mitizzazione dei drammi personali, per esorcizzarli. Il cortometraggio, il mio figlio artistico, non sarà lo sfizio di un ragazzo confuso, sarà l’opportunità di un uomo sicuro. La partecipazione ai festival, il riconoscimento da parte di esperti del settore, sono soltanto alcuni esempi di cosa potrebbe accaderci in seguito, se crediamo in questo progetto, nel nuovo West. Sono qui a chiedere un aiuto per realizzare il mio nuovo progetto "Sombrerete", un cortometraggio Western che si prefigge come obbiettivo la rivisitazione del genere, usufruendo in maniera innovativa di tutti gli stilemi del genere dall'ambientazione alla messa in scena, ma con nuove tematiche e tecniche narrative volte a una sperimentazione personale, uno sguardo mio su un genere lontano dalla mia vita, ma vicinissimo al mio linguaggio. Il cortometraggio parla di vendetta, di crescita deviata da un trauma avvenuto in giovane età, ma anche di perdono forse più verso se stessi che verso la causa delle proprie disgrazie.

Alex Pozzobon, il mio direttore di produzione, nonché amministratore di questa campagna di raccolta fondi ha stilato un piano budget dettagliato per gestire nel modo più schematico e organizzato possibile i fondi:

• 150 euro per l'attrezzatura di suono
• 300 euro di compenso per gli attori
• 400 euro per trasporti e rimborso benzina necessari per la trasferta da Roma a Piombino
• 200 euro per scenografia
• 100 euro per costumi

• 400 euro per il catering

Ogni donazione, anche minima può fare la differenza e permettere a me e alla mia troupe di avere le risorse necessarie per portare avanti questo progetto al meglio. Chiunque donerà riceverà una menzione nei titoli di coda del film.

My name is Leonardo Carletti, I am a Film student at Rufa -Rome University of Fine Arts. Artistic expression is a permanent condition of my life, not an aim but a tool. An aid to talking to people perhaps, a tacit understanding, and cinema represents for me the highest artistic-philosophical instrument of expression ever invented. A harmonious collaboration between all the highest artistic disciplines.

In my passion for cinematic romance, I fell victim to the fascination of genres, a victim of the narrative devices of a well-told story, a tale as old as the world, leaving that space for fantasy, almost naive if you like, of the personal application to the context in which we live of facts that seem so distant to us.
And so the western, which we sometimes forget how much it has given to the cinema of the Bel Paese, how much it has put us on a map as big as the history of cinema itself, but the western told by me, by more underground eyes, eyes that in the western see the mythologisation of personal dramas, to exorcise them. The short film, my artistic child, will not be the whim of a confused boy, it will be the opportunity of a confident man.
Participation in festivals, recognition by experts in the field, are just a few examples of what could happen to us later, if we believe in this project, in the new West. I am here to ask for help in realising my new project "Sombrerete", a Western short film that aims to revisit the genre, using in an innovative way all the stylistic elements of the genre from the setting to the staging, but with new themes and new narrative techniques aimed at personal experimentation, a look of my own at a genre far from my life, but very close to my language.
The short film is about revenge, about growing up deviated by a trauma that occurred at a young age, but also about forgiveness, perhaps more towards oneself than towards the cause of one's misfortunes.

Alex Pozzobon, my production manager, as well as administrator of this fundraising campaign, has drawn up a detailed budget plan to manage the funds in the most schematic and organized way possible:

• 300 euros for photographic equipment
• 150 euros for sound equipment
• 300 euros compensation for the actors
• 400 euros for transport and petrol reimbursement necessary for the trip from Rome to Piombino
• 200 euros per scenography
• 100 euros per costume
• 200 euros per make-up
• 200 euros for post production
• 400 euros for catering
