PROJECT
Closer follows on from Big Wild World which touched on our need to be accepted leading us to make decisions and be something we think others will be happy with.
Closer is about the relationships that end with false excuses that lack of compassionate expression and the ease with which we treat matters of the heart when we want to deny that sometimes our decisions hurt others. We all have (after a certain age) had a failed relationship that we are still not really sure why it ended and we couldn’t help feeling like there was something wrong with us. Too often teens are going through this without support and put far too much importance on what someone else thinks of them. A relationship ending can be a hard blow to a fragile young person. 
‘Closer’ commiserates with the experience of being dumped while suggesting that we can do better than humiliating or lying to those that we supposedly love when we need to leave. Ashleigh wanted to stress that real love can conquer distance and that no matter how far apart two people might be - love will be strong enough to keep them close as we are connected by more than our physical location.
Ashleigh is excited as she has teamed up with the award winning emerging Director Mattia Bello again  for her music video. It will be her first editorial music video. After the success of the video for her debut single ‘Shine’, which was selected for several International film festivals, the pair are intending to make another award winning production.  If you would like to help fund the project please check out the project page here. 

ASHLEIGH VILK BIO
A British artist with Irish roots living in Treviso, Italy. Studio vocalist since 2015 now releasing music as a solo independent artist.
Ashleigh is an artist with a tone of voice that can heal the soul.  Dubbed a ‘Modern Enya’ by producers, as her Celtic tone captures the ear in much the same way. Ashleigh creates an incredibly moving and emotive ‘vocalscape’ (as she calls it) supported by simple yet evoking music. Her aim is to make meaningful music as she believes in its healing power.
Her debut single’s music video ‘Shine’ directed by Mattia Bello has been selected for several film festival awards this year and her latest release ‘Big Wild World’, won the Tracks Music Awards for ‘Best Acoustic / Folk Song of Summer 2022’. She is in the process of completing her first EP, with musician and composer Lars Kastberg of Sweden. The pair are making magical music across the seas and have yet to meet in person! Music brought the two musicians together and they are creating remotely wanting to bring people together through their music. 
‘Closer’ the second single off Ashleigh’s upcoming EP ‘Creative Intentions’ is about healing from the humiliation of being left with cliched excuses. When relationships dissolve we all deserve the truth and it matters how we communicate with one another because we always have a choice to be compassionate. Not matter the distance, real love will still remain strong.
A backing vocals for Italia’s Got Talent and X factor in the past she also collaborates with Italian artists a top-liner and lyricist, is now taking to the stage to share her voice. She has most recently also been in the film ‘Siccità’ directed by Virzi which premiered at the 90^ Venice film festival. 

MATTIA BELLO BIO
A Italian director and photographer, Mattia Bello started his journey as web designer after artistic studying. From 2011 he began to work on graphic design and photography for a well known clothing brand, where he developed his skills and he had the opportunity to collaborate with different photographers and directors in several projects throughout the world (Detroit, Manila, Iceland, New York, Paris, London, Marrakech, Ireland, Scotland, Canary and Svalbard Islands).
From 2012 to today, on his spare time, his desire to create new collaborations with others artists brought himself into the realization of more than 80 music videoclip, with singers, band and artists; from music to entertainment, with italian and world wide authors.
After cinematography experiences in Rome and New Orleans he is now continuing his journey in videomaking, shortmovies and cinema.
