United Tribes. Let's Progress! è la storia di una generazione di napoletani che nei primi anni ‘90 ha sognato l'utopia del tribalismo urbano e dell'edonismo psichedelico.

Ad un certo punto a Napoli contava solo la musica house, il club e l'after hour. L'ordinario era diventato un intermezzo di noia tra un evento e l'altro. La videocrazia italiana stava prendendo forma ma per i ragazzi del '92 l'attesa febbrile era per le one-nights del suono garage, progressive e techno. La breve ma intensissima storia che raccontiamo in immagini è una storia di passione, energia viscerale, dramma psicotropo ed estasi divina.

Napoli finalmente al centro del mondo, Napoli contemporanea, Napoli criminosa e Napoli virtuosa.

Dal 1991 al 1995 a Napoli è successo tutto quello che succedeva simultaneamente nel villaggio dell'house globale ma con caratteristiche così specificamente partenopee da poterci dedicare un libro, prezioso souvenir di un’epoca indimenticabile ed irripetibile.

“United Tribes. Let’s Progress!” is the story of a generation of Neapolitans that has dreamt of the urban tribalism and psychedelic hedonism in the early 1990’s.

At some point, in Naples it only mattered House music, clubbing and the afterhours. The ordinary had become an interval of boredom in between events. Italian videocracy was taking shape but for the boys and girls of ’92 there was just the fever the garage, progressive and techno one-nights. The short but intense story that we are going to tell in images is a story of passion, visceral energy, psychotropic drama and divine ecstasy.

Finally Naples at the centre of the world, a contemporary Naples, a wicked Naples, a virtuous Naples.

What was happening in Naples between 1991 and 1995 was the same that was happening simultaneously in the global House village, but with such Neapolitan characteristics that we feel moved to dedicate this book to it: a precious souvenir of an unforgettable and once-off age.
