PAR4LLEL _°41

è un piccolo viaggio che abbiamo deciso di affrontare dopo una serie di eventi musicali vissuti insieme e che vanno sotto il nome di Intermittenze.L' idea è quella di realizzare delle sessioni di registrazione (audio/video) "spontanee" e sollecitate dal contesto sonoro in cui avvengono (registrazioni non necessariamente!pubbliche e/o eventualmente seguite o precedute da un live nei paraggi del luogo prescelto).

Le sessioni diventeranno un disco ed un piccolo racconto per immagini, Dvd/Cd. Abbiamo deciso e cercato di suonare in maniera del tutto libera e di improvvisare senza parametri prestabiliti o idee compositive che imponessero vincoli di sorta.Il desiderio è che la musica, improvvisata, scaturisca e in parte interagisca con i suoni circostanti. Violoncello, pedali, voce, immagini, casualità, computer, field recordings, found sounds e qualche marchingegno. Abbiamo cercato e ancora cerchiamo dei luoghi con un potenziale sonoro più o meno evidente: una stanza magica; una grotta, una vallata, una radura tra i monti, una camera con vista, una fabbrica, un prato, una galleria, un museo, una stanza delle bambole, un posto segreto o proibito, un vecchio casolare immerso nella natura, una cattedrale, una masseria, una baracca sul mare, una chiatta, una mulattiera, uno stabilimento industriale ormai semi smantellato In breve cerchiamo delle "stanze" in cui trascorrere qualche ora o forse pochi giorni...Quest' avventura sonora (e non solo) è iniziata a a fine settembre a Valdapozzo: un luogo "speciale" a metà tra una cascina ed una residenza per artisti, immersa nelle valli piemontesi. La seconda sessione all' insegna del freddo delle montagne altoatesine in un tunnel abbandonato a ridosso di una gelida gola solcata da un fiume. La terza sessione ci ha dato la possibilità di scoprire il fascino sinistro del Forte Marghera (Venezia). La prima settimana di febbraio 2010 ad ospitarci gli spazi del Lanificio 25 di Napoli restaurato grazie all' associazione Carlo Rendano.
La prossima stanza prevista è New York.

Al momento PAR4LLEL _°41 è un' autoproduzione per cui abbiamo deciso di sostenerlo attraverso un progetto di cooproduzione su Produzioni dal basso. Ovvero una piattaforma che permette di raccogliere ordini per ogni tipo di autoproduzione, rendendo i progetti decisamente più sostenibili... Per contribuire al nostro dvd-cd pre-ordinando una copia del progetto bisogna registrarsi e loggarsi su Produzioni dal basso (in pochissimi minuti). Una volta regitsrati e ottenuti user name e password potete "cliccare" su sostieni il progetto (in questo caso il nostro) e scegliere di "prenotare" una o più quote. Ogni quota corrisponde ad una copia. In questa fase non dovrete materialmente "versare" l' importo (nel caso specifico di 12 euro) Questo avverrà quando il progetto avrà raggiunto un numero di prenotazioni "ragionevoli". A quel punto vi verrà richiesto di "comprare la vostra-vostre copia" via paypal, postepay, carta di credito, bonifico o in contrassegno. A progetto "stampato" vi verrà spedita una o più copie a mezzo posta. Grazie e "sosteniamo" l' autoproduzione dal basso!

Over the past few months, Julia Kent, Barbara De Dominicis and Davide Lonardi have been making a record as parallelo 41: a musical/visual/improvisatory project. We have been recording in interesting spaces--an abandoned tunnel, a farmhouse in Piemonte, a fort outside Venice, an ex wool factrory in Naples, trying to incorporate the sounds and atmospheres into our improvisations.

PAR4LLEL _°41

is a small journey that we decided to embark on after a series of musical events experienced together that go under the name of Intermittenze. We aim to realize some sessions of "spontaneous" recordings (audio/video) influenced by the environment in which they happen. (Recording sessions can be "open" to a public but not necessarily and/or can be followed or preceded by a live performance--in the vicinity of the chosen-place--but not necessarily).

These sessions will become both an album and a little story in images. We decided and tried to play completely free, an improvisation without any set parameters or compositional ideas but the unique influence of the places that host us. We use cello, pedals, voice, images, casuality, laptop, field recordings, found sound and a few toys. We have been and still are looking for unique locations with an inner acoustic potential in order to let our music interact with the environmental sounds. A magic room, a cave, a valley, a path between the mountains, a room with a view, a factory, a meadow, an arcade, a museum, a room of dolls, a secret or forbidden place, the attic of the grandfather, a farmhouse, a church (pref. deconsecrated) a farm, a shed by the sea, a mule track, a dismantled factory, a barge.A "room" where we can spend some hours or a few days; have the chance to record. Our sonic adventure started at Valdapozzo. A beautiful farmhouse/artists' residence placed in the Piedmont valleys. This first "session" happened at the end of September 2009. The second "Parallel 41" session happened at the end of October. We were in an abandoned tunnel near Bolzano, located in the mountains surrounding the beautiful Alto Adige valleys.The third session gave us the chance to discover the sinister charme of Forte Marghera (Venice). At the beginning of febrary 2010 we have been in Napoli interacting with the spaces of an old wool factory ( lanificio 25) from the 19th century that in 2008 the Carlo Rendano association just restored. Next Room/session will be New York.
